We all are in want of something we don’t have. Sometimes it’s the one thing we feel we can’t live without. I have always been a hopeless romantic. Experiencing love & true companionship has been a dream of mine however, after my diagnosis of breast cancer last summer the “one thing” I feel I desperately want back is my health. I miss the body I had grown to love. I miss my hair.I miss feeling confident & being in control of my time & always having the energy to do what I enjoy. After much needed prayer I was able to adjust my perspective. This is only a season and it will pass; I just have to do the work to get to where I want to be physically, mentally & emotionally. I am also very committed to being “a part of my own rescue”. But what if what you want isn’t entirely in your control?
I speak to women all the time and they have shared their “one thing” with me too. It’s either a man, to be married, have the “perfect” job, the right apartment ,a house or a baby. These are all reasonable things to want,I just get concerned when women shut down & protest life as a whole because of not having something or someone you feel you can’t live without. Life is so short but God is so good and from what I know He always sees to it that we have everything & everyone that we need, when we need it.
I think we have to remember that God exists in a place where time doesn’t exist. The Bible says:”But Beloved,Be not ignorant to this one thing, that One day is with the Lord as a thousand years and a thousand years as one day ( 2 Peter 3:8 KJV).
We tend to get discouraged when we focus on time and what we feel the facts are as it relates to our situations BUT GOD has a final say in ALL things. Faith and a positive outlook on your life will keep your mind and can literally save your life. Please stay encouraged and hang in there. Take your time and don’t get caught up on what & who other people have. Your time to have who & what you want will come, if it is Gods will. You have to believe that. Not everyone that has what you want is happy. I repeat, not everyone who has what you want is happy. You never know the real cost or what life is really like for that person. Pictures never tell the full story, that’s why I don’t get caught up on IG posts. Be careful about putting #goals under what is only a snapshot of someone’s life.
Wait on the Lord. If what you are longing for is not His will for your life, ask Him to give you a peace of mind and insight to come up with a remedy to help you fill that void. Don’t get ahead of Him though. That will lead to settling & other things you may not want in the long run.
In the meantime,LIVE!!!!! Enjoy what you do have and design your life around what you can’t control. That’s all you can do.
I wish you the best & May God bless you.
